Now in its 3rd year, this innovative dance holiday, acclaimed by all who attended in 2010 & 2011, offers you two dance experiences in one trip on the beautiful island of Jamaica.  Fully endorsed by the Jamaican Tourist Board and in conjunction with Margaritaville,  and Pier 1, you will spend 7/10 all-inclusive nights at the 4* Sunset Jamaica Grande Resort and Spa in Ocho Rios.

Sekou McMiller

Sekou’s unique style of Latin dance rich with Afro-Caribbean essence and laced with techniques from many genres of dance combined with his explosive energy on and off stage, has earned Sekou’s dancing and instructing broad recognition World-wide. Sekou made his NYC Off-Broadway debut and International Tour with Celia the Musical.  In addition Sekou has over 10 years of instructing and performing at Latin Dance Congresses all over North and South America, Europe and Asia.

Petchu

From the world of Kizomba Petchu has in excess of 30 years experience.  He has been invited back for the second year after his amazing teaching and his pure love of Kizomba. No wonder he has been dubbed the King of Kizomba.  He is responsible for formulating the Kizomba dance steps in very much the same way that Eddie Torres is recognised for having formulated the dance steps for salsa.

Tony C

Owner and founder of VivaLaSalsa and organiser of Jamaica Salsa holidays!

Tony’s salsa classes are ran across the capital have been acclaimed as the friendliest place to dance in London.  Teaching salsa since 2007 and started dancing salsa in 1999.  Tony’s smooth style of dancing has been a hit with all his students and his peers.  He is also DJ’s and Radio presenter and presents a weekly radio show. 

The vision for Jamaica

 

The vision for Jamaica salsa is to bring people from across the world to enjoy a holiday with dance in an exotic location.  Jamaica was selected not only because Tony is a native but because of the culture of dance and song and the friendliness of the population to welcome new forms of dance. To date this trip has included dancers from Saudi Arabia, America, France, UK, Canada, Portugal, Spain and the list continues to grow.

Paulos M of Salsa Flava

Back for a 3rd year... VivaLaSalsa! Jamaica Salsa Links Kizomba DJ for 2012 is Paulos M of Salsa Flava.

Having been introduced to Salsa as early as 2002, Paulos he found his niche straight away and after extensive training and achieving a diploma he started teaching Salsa shortly afterwards in 2003. In 2004 Paulos founded Salsa Flava and has never looked back. He has inspired thousands of people into the salsa scene and today he teaches and DJs weekly. He also took time to perform extensively in 2006 & 2007 with his Salsaton shows!

Focusing more also on his DJing since late 2007, Paulos has now earned a reputation as a renowned DJ both in the UK salsa scene and internationally, as well as his talent for reading his crowd. You will always find his dance floor packed; he guarantees the latest and greatest dance floor fillers as he skillfully selects music to keep you dancing all night.

Transfer to resort via coach one & half hours. Check in and welcome rum punch!

Dinner will be served in the main hall, after dinner at 23.30 meet at the resort disco “Mi Crazy” party time starts here!  With dj Paulios After party Jacuzzi by the pool…

Sunday

11.30 first class with Sekou Mc Miller (NY) Salsa 1 hour approx (On main stage)

13.30 Meet by swim up bar for afternoon Lunch!

11.30 Kizomba with Petchu

No class in the afternoon, trip to the Dunn’s river falls! 14.00.

19.30 Dinner and live shows on the beach. Then more party time & after Jacuzzi party.

Thursday

11.30 Kizomba with Petchu

13.00 Pool party rueda kizomba!!! (the biggest fun ever!)

22.00 Time to party at a local venue

Friday

11.30 Class with Sekou

14.00 Petchu tribal dance!

22.00 Bon fire beach party.

Saturday

Soak up Jamaica! Your second free day to go check out the town go to the craft market etc We are right in the middle of the town once you have exited the resort. There is so mush to do and see on the Island this is a day for you. If there is anything you would like to go and see please let us know and we see if we can arrange it for you.

The big party that night is at “Evit’s” that famous little Italian place on the hill, we will be joined by the local Cubans and latino’s. (Can’t wait for that one) Music with dj Paulios and Tony C.

Sunday

11.30 Advance salsa with Sekou

After class entertainment by the main pool area.

13.30 Advance kizomba with Petchu

16.00 It our catamaran cruise, get ready to party hard! Watch the sunset  from out at sea, be sure to have your cameras!!!

If you can still manage it after that, there is another party!

Monday

It’s the last full day, there will be a mixture of events including dance for you to have a ball….

Leaving dinner in one of the restaurants to be advised, then it one last party.

Tuesday.

Getting ready to leave, topping up your tan if you can take anymore sun.

Transfer from the resort is by air condition coach to Montogo bay airport at approximately  14.30.

 

NB Will be joined for the first time this year by the local salsa clubs who will be joining us for classes, we are expecting around twenty five people to join us there and they know how to party long…..

Breakfast is served between 7 and 10am as a main sit down although you can Eat and Drink all day long if you can! We recommend you drink plenty of water! Lol!

Dinner is between 7 and 10pm. There are five restaurants to choose from you just need to book those if you don’t want to eat in the main dinning area.

All non mortise water sports are free so go play in the water to your hearts content..
